The Latta Family

Lantham Latta started his egg farm in Hillsborough after World War II. It has remained a family operation, with Lantham’s sons and grandsons taking care of the chickens, sorting and boxing eggs, and making deliveries as far as Raleigh and Burlington. The cage-free eggs that Panzanella uses come from brown hens in airy, tin-roofed henhouses, just a few miles north of downtown.
