The Bowman Family

The Bowman family’s Homeland Creamery in Julian, NC, is a family-run operation that makes milk and ice cream for the Triangle and Triad market.  Like Maple View Farm, Homeland Creamery is a full-service dairy, doing everything from growing the grain that the cows eat to bottling the milk and delivering it to stores.  Their local milk is produced without added growth hormones or antibiotics.

At Weaver Street Market, we phased out Maola products in 2006 and introduced Homeland Creamery.  Homeland Creamery’s products cost Weaver Street Market less than comparable products from Maola, and we passed on the savings to customers.  Also, Homeland Creamery bottles their milk in plastic bottles, enabling us to offer locally produced milk with the convenience of plastic.

Panzanella’a milk and ice cream come from Homeland Creamery—another example of our local commitment.
