Foothills Brewing

Foothills Brewing began in 2004 in Winston-Salem. They produce a variety of year-round beers as well as seasonal favorites. Their brew-master, Jamie Bartholomaus, won a Gold medal for his Baltic Porter in the Pro-Am competition at the Great American Beer Festival in 2008. (Jamie worked with a Winston-Salem home-brewer, Tom Noland, as part of the GABF’s Pro-Am competition in which a Professional and an Amateur work together to produce a beer. Jamie tweaked Tom’s recipe and brewed it at Foothills Brewing with Tom’s help.) This was the first North Carolina beer over 6% ABV to receive a national award for beer excellence.
